Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have no upper body strength and no dance experience. Can I do these classes?

Absolutely. Upper body strength is not required to get started. Pole fitness builds and conditions your entire body as you learn, so the strength comes with the classes. After just a few sessions you will be moving with confidence and finding your own unique style. There is no right or wrong way to move. You just have to show up.
Q: Are men welcome at Vertical Allure Studio?

100% yes. Vertical Allure Studio is open to men and women of all body types and skill levels. Our classes are judgment free and built for everyone. Whether you are coming solo, with a partner, or with a group, you have a place here. Come as you are and leave feeling stronger and more confident than when you walked in.
Q: I have never taken a pole dance class before. Which class should I take first?

Start with Beginner Pole 101. It is designed specifically for people with little or no pole experience. We start from the ground up, beginning with how to get comfortable walking around the pole and building from there. You got this.
Q: Do you allow walk-ins or is it by reservation only?

Walk-ins are welcome as long as there is space available when you arrive. If you want to guarantee your spot, book in advance through our website or give us a call. Keep in mind that if no one has signed up for a class it may be cancelled, so booking ahead is always the safer move.
Q: What should I wear?

For pole classes, show a little skin. Comfortable athletic shorts that sit two to three inches above the knee are ideal. That small amount of exposed skin helps you grip the pole. High heels are optional but many beginners prefer to start barefoot. Skip the lotion the day of class as it makes the pole slippery. Remove rings and bracelets before class.

For chair dance classes, skin exposure is not important. Wear whatever makes you feel good and confident. Heels are a great addition if you have them but not required.
Q: Where should I park?

We have a free parking lot with plenty of spaces. No paid parking, no stress.
Q: Do you have showers or a changing area?

We do not have showers but we do have a changing area available for you to use.
All body types are welcome.
